Director of Technology – DevOps & Release Lead DevOps, Release Engineering, and Developer Experience teams to modernize tools, platforms, and engineering practices that power secure, reliable, and high‑quality member experiences.

Impact You’ll Make Drive the evolution of CI/CD pipelines, automation strategies, and engineering workflows. In partnership with Technology, Product, Security, Risk, and Compliance, you will ensure our platforms balance agility with the stewardship, safety, and trust our members expect.

Location: Residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, or CA. Remote or onsite as appropriate.

Responsibilities

Lead technology strategy, develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.

Drive digital transformation, spearhead modernization of platforms, embrace cloud, API, and DevOps best practices.

Build and lead high‑performing teams, mentor, coach, and manage engineering and delivery teams.

Implement agile best practices, oversee adoption of agile methodologies to improve delivery speed and quality.

Enhance system performance, ensure scalability, security, and resilience across enterprise solutions.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with business leaders to align technology investments with operational goals and member needs.

Optimize financial and resource planning, oversee technology budgets and resource allocation to drive cost‑effective solutions.

Foster innovation, identify and implement emerging technologies to enhance competitive edge.

Pay Range Target Pay: $199,300 – $243,800 annually. Full Pay Range: $155,200 – $288,000 annually. Compensation incentives are performance‑based and vary by role.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.

7 years of people leadership experience, supporting DevOps, SRE, or Cloud operations teams.

8 years of information technology experience with expertise in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and automation, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and configuration management.

Domain experience with financial products (e.g., Credit Card, Mortgage, Auto Loan, Deposits) required.

Experience building technology platforms and teams required.

Preferred Qualifications

Develop and execute strategic plans for cloud migration, DevOps implementation, test automation, and performance testing.

Ensure infrastructure, tools, and processes are optimized for efficiency and scalability.

Identify and address bottlenecks in development and deployment workflows.

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), scripting languages (Python, Bash), and CI/CD & IaC tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Spinnaker).

Advanced knowledge of technology fundamentals, design, problem‑solving, and complexity analysis.

Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and product management to understand requirements and describe software features and technical designs.

Delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology.

Experience with software engineering best practices, including coding standards, release management, incident management, CI/CD, build processes, testing, and operations.
