
Legal Administrative Assistant (Real Estate)

Founded in 1920, Akerman is recognized as one of the country’s premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers throughout the United States. Akerman is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Real Estate Practice Group in our New York office.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional with 10 or more years of experience supporting attorneys in a large law firm environment. This role requires strong technical proficiency, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Prepare, edit, and format legal documents
Handle billing, time entry, expenses, and travel arrangements
Coordinate with Billing and Finance to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant billing consistent with client guidelines
Maintain electronic documents and client information
Provide general administrative support to attorneys as needed, including calendaring
Qualifications
10 or more years of experience supporting attorneys in a large law firm, preferably Real Estate
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (Styles/Formatting), Excel, iManage, Chrome River (Emburse), Intapp, and document comparison tools
Hands-on experience with enterprise legal billing systems (e.g., Elite 3E; 3E Proforma or comparable paperless proforma tools)
Ability to manipulate documents in Kofax Power PDF
Excellent typing accuracy with strong attention to detail
Well organized, dependable, and able to handle multiple priorities
Ability to work independently, and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Type Full-Time (35 hours per week); Monday - Friday (Overtime as needed)
Salary Range $78,000 - $105,000 (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.)
