What does a Sales Manager do?
Managing New vehicle inventory
Ordering, acquiring, wholesaling, and retailing new inventory
Effectively and with profit, retailing new car inventory at Ford 2A6 volume
Managing CRM, ensuring staff is handling customers effectively
Working with BDC manager to mine potential sales customers
Merchandising new inventory on lot
Pricing New inventory
Manage Website and other IT functions related to new inventory
Involved in the hiring, training, motivation, counseling, and monitoring of the performance of all salespeople.
Directs sales staffing and training in ways that will enhance the development and control of sales programs.
Establishes annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profit.
Monitors salesperson productivity and performance.
Orders/acquires new vehicle inventory if so assigned by General Sales Manger.
Administers and monitors factory-sponsored programs.
Displays, merchandises, and promotes new vehicles.
Reviews market analysis and sales reports to determine customer needs, volume potential and develops sales campaigns to accommodate the goals of the dealership.
Serves as a liaison between sales department and other departments.
Maintains a professional appearance.
Attends managers meetings as requested.
Qualifications
Three years+ automotive sales management experience
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships
Enthusiastic personality
Ability to motivate, train, develop and manage a team of sales people
Must thrive in a fast‑paced, results driven environment.
Strong computer skills
Must be reliable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level of detail, organization and accuracy
Effective listening & communication skills when speaking with coworkers or customers.
Exceptional ability to learn and grow
Amazing work ethic
Ability to learn from veteran management staff
Outstanding ability to work with a team and take direction
Ability and willingness to adopt modern technology
Strong written and verbal communication skills
