Director, Trading Product Management

THE ROLE As Director, Trading Product Management, you will serve as the Chief Product Owner for Trading, with accountability for defining and delivering the vision, strategy, and technology delivery of the firm's trading platforms and capabilities across asset classes. This role leads the evolution of core trading platforms, including the Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS), in close partnership with the investment, trading, and technology teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Product Strategy & Trading Capability Development

Define and own the strategic vision and roadmap for trading platforms across asset classes in partnership with trading, investment, and technology leadership.

Translate trading workflows into scalable technology capabilities that enhance execution quality, liquidity access, cost‑efficiency, and risk management.

Drive the evolution of trading technology capabilities across order and execution management, trade‑lifecycle processing, analytics, and workflow optimization.

Incorporate market‑structure trends, regulatory developments, vendor innovation, and advanced data and analytics capabilities (including AI where appropriate) into product strategy.

Maintain a strong external perspective on trading technology and market evolution, building relationships with industry peers, vendors, and market participants to inform strategy and bring leading practices into the organization.

Delivery Leadership, Execution & Platform Management

Accountable for delivery and ongoing evolution of trading platforms, including CRIMS implementations, upgrades, stability, and performance.

Own and prioritize product backlogs to align with business value, strategic outcomes, and regulatory requirements.

Lead and align Agile teams ensuring clarity on priorities, dependencies, and milestones.

Drive disciplined execution by managing risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes, while embedding strong SDLC and platform stability practices.

Vendor Management & External Partnerships

Own strategic relationships with key vendors, including Charles River, ensuring alignment on product direction, priorities, and delivery commitments in partnership with trading and technology leadership.

Influence vendor roadmaps to align with evolving business, regulatory, and market needs.

Ensure vendor performance, platform reliability, and service delivery meet enterprise standards and business expectations.

Partner with technology leadership to optimize the balance of internal development and external platform capabilities.

Maintain a forward‑looking view of the OMS/OEMS vendor landscape, identifying capabilities that enhance, extend, or modernize existing solutions across trading and the investment lifecycle.

Partnership, Governance & Communication

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Technology, Trading, and Investment leadership on technology platform strategy.

Lead governance and prioritization approaches that enable transparent, data‑driven decision‑making.

Clearly communicate trade‑offs, risks, and dependencies, translating complex initiatives into clear and concise narratives.

Establish metrics and feedback loops to ensure visibility into progress, value delivery, and platform performance.

Leadership, Collaboration & Product Community

Build and develop high‑performing product and delivery teams, fostering strong ownership, collaboration, and trading domain expertise.

Elevate product management practices across the trading domain, driving consistency, accountability, and outcome‑focused delivery.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to drive alignment across the product owner community, managing interdependencies and promoting best practices within a global, matrixed organization.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree and/or CFA preferred.

15+ years of experience in trading, trading technology, product management, or front‑office systems within asset management or financial services.

Deep expertise in trading workflows, including order and execution management, trade‑lifecycle processes, and trading data and analytics.

Strong experience with the Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS), including implementation, enhancement, and platform management.

Proven track record of defining and delivering strategic trading platforms with measurable business impact.

Strong experience operating within Agile frameworks, including backlog ownership, prioritization, and cross‑team coordination.

Experience managing strategic vendor relationships, including Charles River, within complex enterprise environments.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives.

Strong systems thinking with the ability to navigate technical, operational, and organizational complexity.

Exceptional communication and executive storytelling skills.

Proven ability to lead through influence, align diverse stakeholders, and drive outcomes in a global, matrixed organization.

Commercially minded with a pragmatic, forward‑looking approach to problem solving.

Familiarity with emerging technologies, including advanced analytics and AI, and their application within trading or investment workflows.

CFA

Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)

BASE SALARY RANGE $159,500.00 – $240,000.00 – this position is eligible for a competitive incentive bonus.
