Strategic Account Manager – Swine Business Unit (Iowa/Minnesota)
The purpose of the Swine Strategic Account Manager role in Elanco is to create demand and secure sales by professionally promoting, differentiating, delivering and demonstrating the value of Elanco products and services to customers and the people who influence their product use decisions. Sales representatives are held accountable for delivering sales results, creating and managing territory business plans that align Elanco initiatives with account needs. This role places high priority on the ability to embrace the principles of ONE ELANCO and organize and lead an account team that brings the best of Elanco to our key customers.
Your Responsibilities: Frontline business management
Manage Sales and Customer Agreements: Oversee topline sales, Elanco margin strategy, and the customer purchase agreement process, including pricing, rebates, and tracking customer commitments.
Customer Relationship Management & Collaboration: Utilize Elanco Connect to manage customer data, collaborate with internal teams to ensure ease of business, and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key accounts.
Drive Innovation & Strategic Growth: Identify customer needs and opportunities, integrating them into Elanco's innovation strategy to deliver impactful solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
Strategic Account Management Process
Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Develop and execute long-term account strategies, leading cross-functional teams (Sales, Technical, Marketing, EKS, Value Team, Elanco Leadership) while engaging stakeholders at all levels, from "Barns to Boardrooms."
Continuous Improvement & Adaptation: Drive customer-focused improvements by gathering feedback, analyzing account performance, and adjusting strategies to meet evolving customer needs and industry trends.
Customer Value Selling
Collaborative Relationship & Value Creation: Build strong relationships with production systems and key influencers, proactively solving problems, identifying opportunities, and positioning Elanco’s products and resources to create long-term value, balancing both Elanco's and the customer's goals for a win-win outcome.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s of Science (BS) Degree or higher.
Required Experience: 3 years selling or production experience.
Demonstrated business acumen.

Sales and influence experience
Passion for selling and animal agriculture
Demonstrated ability to develop goals, key milestones and action plans for key accounts
Ability to influence across multiple disciplines: veterinary, nutritional, processing, feed milling, sales and marketing, and senior management.
Savvy ability to develop, advance and maintain strong relationships
Self starter with high initiative and sound work ethic
Demonstrated ability to learn, apply and communicate technical/scientific knowledge
Flexible to learning new products and disease states over time
Strong team member with ability to interact and coordinate resources across a diverse set of resources
Ability to relocate if necessary

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $85,700.00 to $171,800 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
