Project Employee, NBA Social and Emerging Media – Creative Activations

Position Summary This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months. It is part of the NBA Social and Digital Content team, which focuses on identifying, creating, and publishing content to the NBA's social and digital platforms and its many domestic and international partners worldwide.

The ideal candidate is an active consumer of social media and understands the latest social trends and viral campaigns. They are passionate about basketball and how to connect with NBA fans through creative activations. The candidate will support the creative activations function of the NBA’s Social and Emerging Media team and maintain a pulse on NBA content across podcasts, message boards and other short‑ and long‑form media.

Major Responsibilities

Support the NBA Social and Emerging Media Lead in day‑to‑day operations and content initiatives around creative activations and internal/partner campaigns for social and digital platforms

Maintain project tracking calendars to support team organization and execution timelines

Organize, maintain, and update notes, key documents, and other resource materials across projects

Assist in developing pitch decks and presentations

Communicate and collaborate with multiple internal departments to support cross‑functional initiatives

Monitor social media trends, platforms, and fan engagement behaviours to inform creative activations content strategy

Contribute ideas and creative input to enhance fan engagement and reach new audiences

Required Skills and Knowledge

Strong knowledge of the NBA, including players, teams, storylines, statistics, standings, history, and the league calendar; actively consumes NBA content daily

Understanding of the NBA’s social voice

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment; knowledge of platforms like Airtable and how to integrate AI into operational workflows

Ability to work effectively under deadlines and incorporate feedback quickly and accurately

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally as part of a team

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the NBA calendar

Education Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field preferred.

Salary Range $2307.69/biweekly
