Providing exemplary customer service to the Hispanic community, the primary contact sells at‑need cemetery property and products as well as pre‑need funeral and cemetery arrangements. Generates revenue by selling customized special goods to walk‑in and warm leads directly to the customer. Requires ability to work in the death industry and exhibit compassion.

Job Responsibilities

Connect with families through listening, honest communication, and genuine concern, developing an understanding of each family’s unique needs, culture, and concerns. Present electronic presentations to customers, explaining services, products, and property options. Drive company vehicle to show available cemetery plots or columbarium niches. Discuss options, answer questions, assist selections, enter selections into electronic contract, obtain supporting documents, review selections, obtain signature, and discuss payment options.

Follow up with families as arrangements progress, address issues or changes, and resolve concerns. Collaborate with funeral and cemetery teams for seamless, high‑quality service. Resolve customer concerns independently and follow up in person, phone, and/or email.

Greet and escort immediate family. Attend visitations, services, and receptions to answer guest questions or resolve issues. Softly obtain warm leads from attending family and guests interested in pre‑need arrangements.

Review warm leads for potential customers (~25% of workweek). Place outgoing calls to warm leads, establish initial contact, listen to needs, schedule a formal appointment, provide marketing materials, confirm or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours prior, and prepare for appointments based on previously disclosed needs.

Maintain leads in Salesforce.com database, monitor progress to achieve a 4‑to‑1 close rate, and utilize online training tools to improve knowledge and practice presentations.

Learn to apply knowledge and skills to the business environment. Work under guidance with peer review for accuracy, quality, and coaching. Complete routine work per established procedures, comply with regulations, and raise non‑routine issues for assistance. Exhibit accountability and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Discuss assignments, expectations, priorities, and deadlines with manager. Seek guidance and coaching. Adjust effectively to new work structures, processes, and cultures.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or GED. College coursework at sophomore level preferred. Alternatively, an additional two years of directly related work experience in business administration, sales, or marketing may be considered.

Licenses:

Current state‑issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to operate company vehicles; Life Insurance License as required by state regulatory board.

Experience:

At least 1 year customer service or direct sales work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Computer skills.

Professional verbal communication skills.

Willingness to work in the death industry.

Positive attitude, self‑motivation, and drive to continually advance understanding of the industry and business.

Ability to build professional and trusting business relationships and apply cognitive skills such as reasoning, planning, problem identification, and learning.

Process and results oriented; able to keep projects moving by identifying obstacles.

Compliance with company policies on punctuality, attendance, safety, and image.

Availability to work nights, weekends, and overtime.

Ability to pass the company’s internal presentation certification within thirty days of employment.

Target Compensation Target annual compensation range: $50,000 to $100,000. The total compensation is typically commission‑based, varying with performance, location, and conditions. In subsequent years, total compensation can exceed $100,000.
