For over a decade, Smiles for Sick Children (S4SC) [smiles4sickchildren.com], a non profit based in Anthem, AZ, has delivered more than 43,000 toys to children in Arizona hospitals. This remarkable ministry has grown steadily from a modest startup to a thriving organization. The S4SC Board of Directors (Board) now seeks an Executive Director to lead this ministry to the next level of bringing joy, encouragement, and practical support to children facing serious illness and their families.
Responsibilities The Executive Director will report to the Board and have full authority to expand the reach of S4SC. Specific responsibilities will include:
Provide strategic leadership to implement the organization’s mission and vision
Lead fundraising and donor development
Oversee daily operations, budgeting, and program management
Build relationships with hospitals, community partners, and volunteers
Support and collaborate with the Board on strategic initiatives
Represent S4SC in the community
Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position:
Is a collaborative leader who is passionate about serving children and families
Has experience with nonprofit management, fundraising, or program leadership
Possesses strong communication and relationship-building skills
Has experience managing budgets, staff, and volunteers
Is a strategic thinker with the ability to grow and strengthen an organization
Transition and Compensation Although the Board expects the growth of the ministry to support a full-time Executive Director, it seeks a candidate who will lead and direct S4SC on a part-time basis at a salary of $2,500 per month.
