is seeking a
Freelance Estimator
for residential construction projects only. This role does not include commercial, industrial, heavy civil, or high-rise work. We are looking for someone with strong residential estimating experience who can develop accurate budgets and proposals from work scopes, photos, videos, site information, and partial plan sets. Many of our projects are not fully architect-driven at the early estimating stage, so this role requires strong judgment, practical construction knowledge, and the ability to identify missing information before pricing is finalized. Project Types
Guest houses / ADUs / casitas Attached and detached garages Carport conversions Additions Kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home remodels General residential renovations Responsibilities
Prepare takeoffs, budgets, and estimates from available project information, including scopes, photos, videos, site details, and plans when provided. Help translate incomplete information into clear pricing assumptions, scope outlines, and proposal language. Identify scope gaps, missing details, cost risks, and likely clarifications needed before construction. Coordinate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers as needed. Communicate clearly about assumptions, exclusions, allowances, and items that require further field verification or design development. Work within our internal systems and budget structure. Requirements
At least 5 years of residential estimating experience. Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and pricing. Ability to work from incomplete information and develop practical budgets before full construction documents are available. Strong attention to detail, communication, and follow-through. Ability to work remotely and stay organized using shared files, photos, videos, and project documentation. Role Type
