Location: Royal Oak, MI • Employment Type: Direct Hire, Full‑Time
About the Role We are seeking a customer‑focused Teller / Relationship Banker to join our Royal Oak branch. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with the public, handling financial transactions, and building trusted relationships. The Teller/Relationship Banker plays a key role in delivering outstanding service, promoting financial products, and identifying solutions that support members' short‑ and long‑term financial needs. This opportunity is open to candidates with prior teller experience as well as those coming from retail or other customer‑facing roles with strong cash‑handling and sales experience.
Schedule & Hours
Monday‑Friday: 8:45 AM – 5:15 PM
Rotating Saturdays: Every other Saturday, 8:45 AM – 1:15 PM (partial weekday off in the same week)
Lunch: 30‑45 minutes, based on branch needs
What You'll Do
Process a high volume of financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, checks, wires, and loan payments
Accurately update account information and document member interactions in the core system
Build relationships by identifying opportunities to recommend and cross‑sell financial products and services
Educate members on available products and services to support their financial goals
Maintain professionalism while handling sensitive and confidential information
Collaborate with internal departments to research and resolve member questions or concerns
Complete operational support tasks such as daily reports, scanning, and document processing
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
Required Qualifications
Minimum 6 months of similar or related experience
Previous teller experience preferred; retail experience with cash handling and sales is also acceptable
High School Diploma or GED
Cash‑handling experience in a retail or financial setting
Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional
Willingness and ability to upsell and promote products as part of the role
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic math skills and comfort using calculators
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook
Dependable, eager to learn, and committed to showing up consistently
Ability to be bonded and obtain Notary designation in the future
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience in a credit union, banking, wealth management, or insurance environment
Prior exposure to loan support, collections, or banking operations
Experience with core banking systems (e.g., Symitar or similar)
College coursework or degree
Strong professional presence and attention to detail

Salary Range: $39,520.00 – $41,600.00 per year
