The Phillip Charles Group has been servicing the local metro Detroit area for the past 30 years and has built incredibly strong partnerships with our clients, candidates and employees. We have worked with our current client for years and they are looking for an Import Specialist role for a Direct Hire opportunity based out of their Romulus, Mi. location.
Day shift: 8am-5pm Pay: $55 to 60k based on experience
Job Responsibilities: Overseeing the customs release process and managing the delivery logistics of imported shipments to ensure timely and compliant clearance.
Responsibilities: Trace and arrange shipping based on received basic information. Ascertain charges due and responsibility for payment. Refer to and update the customer master file as necessary. Prepare and process import documents (both ABI and non-ABI functions); handle billing and forward entry summary documents; close out files. Keep customers informed about shipment status. Secure shipping documents and determine required services. Process shipments and arrange pickups as required.
Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years of related experience; equivalent education and experience acceptable. Language Skills: Ability to read safety rules, maintenance instructions, write reports, and speak effectively before groups. Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic, computing rates, ratios, and interpreting graphs. Physical Demands: Regular talking and hearing required; frequent standing/walking; occasional sitting, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
