Vice President Commercial Loan (Dallas)

We are partnering with a well-established and growing financial institution seeking a Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer to join their team. This individual will play a key role in driving commercial lending growth, managing client relationships, and contributing to overall portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities Proactively develop new commercial lending opportunities through networking, referrals, and direct calling efforts Build, manage, and grow a portfolio of commercial clients across a variety of industries Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow to assess creditworthiness and structure deals Prepare and present detailed credit memorandums for loan approval Monitor existing loans to ensure compliance with terms, covenants, and reporting requirements Maintain strong relationships with clients, CPAs, attorneys, and other referral sources Exercise lending authority within approved limits (loans, lines of credit, letters of credit, etc.) Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate portfolio risk and identify market trends Mentor and support junior credit or lending staff as needed Participate in strategic planning efforts to support lending growth and profitability
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field 5–10+ years of experience in commercial lending and/or credit analysis Strong background in commercial and real estate underwriting Proven ability to source and close new business Deep understanding of credit risk, loan structuring, and regulatory considerations Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
