In this role, you'll dive deep into transactional data, identify refund opportunities, perform multi-state tax research, collaborate with taxing authorities, and deliver measurable savings to clients. This role is perfect for audit professionals already working with Texas or Louisiana sales Tax audits looking to expand their Sales & Use tax experience while focusing exclusively on audit, recovery, and advisory work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in review preparation, including data reconciliation to trial balance reports, tax reconciliation and other data analysis Gather essential documentation to support reviews Obtains source documentation from clients' system Review client documents relating to sales/use taxes including invoices, purchase orders, sales/use tax returns and details, sales/use tax audits, etc. Creates schedules of invoices and/or other documents Researches and enters data regarding tax exemptions into the system Research sales/use tax questions and issues Contact vendors as necessary for refund follow-up Assist in the compilation of client reports, refund claims, and client training Travel to client locations as needed Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide support to Sr. Tax Consultants, Tax Managers, and Directors Perform other duties as assigned Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field 1-3 years in the sales tax field with a focus on audits Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Experience researching tax questions and issues preferred Demonstrated problem solving, verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels Valid driver's license Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
