The Immigration Advisor I reports directly to a regional Immigration Manager and works as an integral member of the Global team assisting with case preparation and management for all clients in the designated region. Primary responsibilities include: Counsel and respond to queries from human resources, managers and employees on all global immigration-related matters including visa processing, documentation, visa options, risks, timelines, etc. Research to obtain information commonly maintained by government entities; initiates contact and alerts Global team regarding potential process delays/problems/updates Prepare application materials required for all services offered, including but not limited to: new documents (procurement), authenticated documents, consular visas, passports, work permits, residence permits, and extensions of same Maintain relationships with BAL's global immigration service providers and ensure that employees are receiving quality service at all times Responsible for accurately maintaining BAL's internal database to ensure all data is recorded and all appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner to pro-actively drive the case forward and keep the client and relevant BAL managers updated in real time Evaluate cases, relay concerns, and proactively escalate to the appropriate BAL team member(s)/managers Administrative duties associated with global immigration case management, including but not limited to: Process payments and/or reimbursements Process invoices Submit receipts Generate reports Maintain required legal documentation Complete competence of case types previously handled and continually strives to advance and broaden knowledge base; demonstrate increasing levels of independence in case handling Communicate (written, spoken, and reading comprehension) at a professional level in English, and improve knowledge of other foreign languages necessary for casework Complete other related duties as assigned and support the firm Secondary responsibilities include: Provide support to other Global immigration teams at manager's discretion. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications include: 0 2 years corporate immigration related experience Exposure to international corporate immigration preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required Excellent customer service skills Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in all dealings Must be able to multi-task and able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment Must effectively participate in and facilitate in a oneBAL team environment; professional, respectful attitude towards all coworkers Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills Must demonstrate strong organization skills Must have keen attention to detail, produce error-free work Must think and act independently with professionalism, discretion and confidentiality Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written Good general computer knowledge and typing skills, including word-processing, email, and forms software; ability to learn new software/programs Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications Ability to travel within a limited radius to client site or consulates Physical requirements include: Able to maintain a sedentary position for up to 90% of the work day Able to type and to grasp, grip, push and pull file drawers and doors Able to walk and climb stairs or use elevator to coordinate with other departments Able to bend, stoop, kneel and/or stand to access files and documents Able to lift up to 25 lbs. of files and/or boxes Note: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
