PACKAGING DESIGNER JOB DESCRIPTION
Salary: 80-105k
Location: Pennsauken, NJ (On-site M-F 8-5)
Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)
The Packaging Designer lays an essential role in designing displays, and packaging that protects and showcases customers products. From ideation to creation, the Packaging Designer works closely with salespeople, customer service and the customer to create innovative designs, and modify existing corrugated packaging using CAD and other technologies and their knowledge of structural design.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)
Use CAD equipment and software to develop packaging designs
Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)
Utilizes knowledge of various machines, mathematics, materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of products
Responsible for setting up, maintaining and organizing file system for designs
Communicate with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing and Manufacturing regarding new and revised prints
Maintains database regarding design changes
Process short order production runs
Meet with both internal and external clients to discuss viability and paths forward on projects

Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)
Bachelors degree design or related field preferred
Experience in corrugated packaging design or related field preferred
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator
Understanding of marketing, production, product packaging
Experience in computer-aided design
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements
A basic understanding of design principals and drafting techniques
Knowledge of ISO 9001
Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks
Demonstrated initiative in personal professional development
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally over the phone, and in person, at our own site and at customer or 3rd party sites
