About us
At Maxima, we're eliminating the pain of enterprise accounting through powerful integrations, intuitive design, and AI-driven automation. By consolidating processes into a single, easy-to-use platform and automating repetitive tasks, we free accounting teams to focus on strategic, high-impact work—achieving more with fewer resources.
Our team is led by top engineers and finance professionals from companies like Robinhood, Bolt, EY, Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Amazon, Google, Airbnb, Rubrik, and more. Together, we're using our extensive industry experience to transform the way businesses manage their finances.
Maxima is backed by leading Silicon Valley investors. We raised the largest seed round in our category, with support from top-tier VCs such as Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint Ventures and Audacious Ventures. This funding has allowed us to launch a fully operational product and onboard several major customers.
Role Description As a Product Designer at Maxima, you will be instrumental in shaping the user experience and visual design of our enterprise accounting automation platform. You will own the design process from initial concept and user research through to high-fidelity mockups and implementation, ensuring our product is not just powerful, but also intuitive and delightful to use. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and customers to translate complex business processes into simple, elegant design solutions.
Own End-to-End Design:

Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing) with enterprise accounting professionals to understand their needs, pain points, and workflows. Translate these insights into actionable design improvements. System and Consistency:
Contribute to and maintain our design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the entire platform. Collaborative Execution:
Partner with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and successful implementation of designs, providing detailed specifications and reviewing final output for quality and adherence to design intent. Advocate for Design:
Present and clearly articulate design decisions and rationales to product managers, engineers, and company leadership, backing up decisions with data and user research. Iterative Prototyping:
Rapidly create interactive prototypes to test design concepts and gather feedback early and often.
Qualifications 2+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role, preferably in
B2B SaaS or Enterprise software
. A strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in end-to-end product design, including user research, interaction design, and visual design. Experience designing complex data-heavy applications is a significant plus. Expert proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch). Experience defining, building, and maintaining a scalable design system. Highly motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity startup environment. Experience or foundational understanding of accounting, finance, or ERP systems is a plus.
