
Lead & Market Development Representative

As part of our Customer Excellence Team, the Lead & Market Development Representative is responsible for converting contacts and inquiries into qualified leads that generate sales opportunities and revenue growth. This role bridges marketing and sales by proactively engaging prospects from multiple sources including tradeshows, webinars, website interactions, and targeted outreach to qualify needs, nurture interest, and drive conversion into the sales pipeline. Through effective communication, follow-up, and data management, this position directly impacts the company’s ability to achieve revenue growth and expand market presence across our portfolio of services.
This is hybrid position so candidates will need to be willing to commute to the Elgin, IL, corporate office during the week as needed.
What you will do
Conduct proactive outreach via phone, email, and/or social platforms using HubSpot and other CRM tools. Follow up on all potential leads generated from tradeshows, webinars, website activity, Google Alerts, Citylitics/GovWin IQ, state reporting systems, and targeted email campaigns. Qualify leads through structured conversations, data review, needs assessment, and decision-making criteria. Coordinate meeting scheduling and handoffs with Sales Scheduler and/or Outside Sales Representatives. Maintain accurate and current records in CRM, ERP, and other sales tracking systems. Collaborate with Area Sales Managers, Marketing Coordinator, and Outside Sales Representatives to optimize lead nurturing and conversion. Track metrics such as calls, emails, meetings booked, and conversion rates. Perform other duties as assigned. Ready to start your adventure with us? Have industry experience in municipal services, utilities, or infrastructure markets, preferred Have proven ability to establish trust and build relationships quickly with colleagues, prospects and clients. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Have strong organizational and follow-up abilities. Have proficiency in CRM systems like HubSpot, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Have proficiency in Citylitics or GovWin IQ. Have proven ability to establish trust and build relationships quickly with prospects and clients.
