The Voice of Milk is hiring a Strategic Account Manager (Agriculture / Dairy Industry) to join our team.
The Voice of Milk is a collaboration between Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, the Dairy Business Association, and the Minnesota Milk Producers Association, along with its affiliate Farmers for Sustainable Food. Together, we represent over 1,400 dairy farmers and industry supporters, advocating for policies and programs that support the long-term success of dairy farm families and agribusinesses.
This role is ideal for someone with experience working directly with farmers who is passionate about agriculture, sustainability, and building strong relationships within the dairy industry.
As a Strategic Account Manager, you will serve as a key point of contact for members—supporting farmer engagement, sustainability initiatives, and program growth within your assigned territory.
What You’ll Do Member Engagement & Relationship Management (80%)
Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective dairy farmer members
Conduct on-farm visits to provide support, gather feedback, and communicate program value
Recruit new members in alignment with organizational growth goals
Provide support related to agricultural policy, regulations, and sustainability programs
Strengthen communication between farmers and processors
Conduct verification checks with assigned labs (virtual or in-person)
Support sustainability program enrollment and participation
Sustainability Program Execution (10%)
Lead onboarding and contract execution for sustainability initiatives
Educate farmers on program opportunities, requirements, and benefits
Support data collection efforts for grant-funded and supply chain projects
Coordinate with farmers, processors, and project partners to gather required data
Assist in reviewing farm-level sustainability reports
Serve as a liaison for farmer-led conservation groups within your territory
Support meeting coordination, agendas, reporting, and communications
Assist with cost-share programs and conservation surveys
Maintain membership and sponsor records
Help plan and execute educational events and outreach initiatives
Support development of annual reports and grant documentation
Qualifications
Associate’s degree (or higher) in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, Communications, Sales, or related field preferred
OR 4+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
3–5 years of experience working directly with farmers required
Previous experience in the agriculture or dairy industry preferred
Ability to travel throughout Wisconsin 50% of the time

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
