Job Summary At Home’s marketing content and strategy team is a critical part of telling our story to the world. The

Associate Manager of Category Marketing

drives the product storytelling for all marketing channels—including website, social, video, digital media text, and email. They champion product assortment on the marketing team and customer voice on the merchandising team, serving as the on‑ground representative of their assigned merchandise division across all customer touchpoints in marketing.

Essential Functions

Aggregates and leads on strategic upfront planning as the representative of product storytelling and assortment knowledge for their assigned division.

Provides direction for product storytelling throughout the marketing and customer communications for their division and represents an aggregated view across the entire assortment.

Prioritizes the presence of critical categories and stories in their division to inspire and make At Home famous for these key areas.

Serves as the conduit for current performance information, deadlines and deliverables between the merchandising and marketing teams for their division.

Ensures product stories are inspiring to the customer and easy to shop in store and online for their division.

Leads in identifying with their assigned division and pulling through the key product stories—including special treasures and price leaders—to customer communications.

Participates in merch meetings and collaborates with buying teams for their division.

Summarizes performance and engagement data from email, text, social, and media and communicates back to merchandising and the marketing team for their assigned division.

Ensures product in marketing communications is in stock and shoppable in both store and website for their assigned division.

Manages clearance, pricing changes, and promotions in their assigned division and ensures they are accurately communicated to the customer across all channels.

Champions and develops the product storytelling databases, applying updates as needed.

Collaborates with the marketing strategy team to create the content plan and assists in architecting product stories.

Strategically chooses product for all marketing communications, including reviewing briefs, providing guidance, and merchandising email, text, social, and media.

Provides shot requests, priorities, lists, and product for content creation in studios, social, and media, and coordinates with merchant team to deliver samples for their division.

Attends weekly creative reviews and provides product feedback, direction, and proofs, QA’ing product content for all customer‑facing creative for their assigned division.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, merchandising, media or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

4+ years of experience with content, merchandising, or a similar function.

A skilled collaborator, able to manage multiple contributors, data points and points of view to meet timelines, budgets and expectations as a team and company effort.

Deep experience in leading customer‑facing content creation and planning—preferably in a retail environment.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Strong execution abilities, problem‑solving, and written and verbal communication skills.

Must be innovative, organized, efficient, and capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects.

Some experience with retail, merchandising, buying, or content planning is preferred.

Must be able to work on a hybrid model: Mon/Fri remote and Tues‑Thurs in office.

Working Conditions

Must be able to remain stationary at a desktop workspace for extended periods of time.
