The Early Career Sales Representative (ECSR) will be responsible for developing new business and managing and growing assigned customer accounts primarily within the small to medium business segment. The ECSR will work to gain success within inside sales to secure an area outside sales role within 12‑14 months. The ECSR will coordinate orders, secure new business, resolve account issues, and expand the customer base by engaging with new prospects and win‑back opportunities. How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock

Drive customer experience and create cross‑selling, up‑selling, and new business opportunities Stay current on the paper and packaging industry, Smurfit Westrock products, manufacturing challenges, and retail trends Maintain knowledge of Smurfit Westrock enterprise solutions and continually learn new products Analyze customer pressures, create SWOT analyses, and develop competitive selling strategies Research accounts and identify key players for outbound calls and digital outreach Resolve complex customer issues such as pricing, delivery, quality, logistics, and margin improvement Follow established processes to maintain and improve quality results Collaborate with Business Unit and Plant sales teams on overlapping responsibilities Achieve individual and team metrics, volume and margin targets, and department goals Proactively contribute ideas and support inside sales leadership and regional plants Coach junior team members What You Need To Succeed

1–3 years of B2B inside sales, field sales, or related experience Experience in the fiber‑based packaging industry strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience Manage a full book of assigned accounts across multiple business units Develop and qualify opportunities, present solutions, overcome objections, negotiate, and close over phone and videoconference Consistent top‑performer record within the ECSR team Flexible, resilient problem‑solving skills Proficiency in Salesforce.com or similar CRM Microsoft Office and social media platform competency Home office/workspace free of disruptions; company‑provided laptop and phone Excellent verbal and written communication and phone presence Comfortable with high call volume Strong listening, presentation, negotiation, and decision‑making skills Team player who works well in a matrix organization What We Offer
