We partner with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), discharge planners, and case managers to deliver seamless, patient-centered care. We are growing — and we need a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Representative to expand our referral network and drive census growth across our Maine territory.
The Opportunity Are you a relationship-builder who thrives in healthcare sales? Do you know how to open doors at skilled nursing facilities, build trust with hospital discharge planners, and grow a referral network that drives real census growth? As our Home Health BDR, you will own a defined sales territory, build referral relationships across the Maine healthcare continuum, and convert those relationships into consistent, high-quality referrals that help more patients receive care at home.
What You'll Do Referral Development & Territory Management
Build and maintain a robust referral network with physicians, hospitalists, hospital discharge planners, case managers, social workers, SNFs, ALFs, and rehab centers across Maine
Identify, qualify, and prioritize high-value referral accounts; develop tailored strategies to penetrate new accounts and grow existing relationships
Conduct regular in-person sales calls, lunch-and-learns, and community education presentations to increase Interim HealthCare's visibility and referral volume
Respond quickly to new referral opportunities and serve as a liaison between referral sources and our clinical operations team
Sales Strategy & Census Growth
Create and execute a territory business plan with clear targets for new account acquisition and home health census growth
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations on Interim HealthCare's Medicare-certified home health, hospice, and personal care services
Track all prospecting, account development, and referral activity in CRM software (Salesforce or equivalent)
Report weekly on pipeline activity, referral trends, and territory performance metrics
Community Partnership & Clinical Collaboration
Partner with clinical managers to monitor service quality and ensure referral sources feel confident in the care their patients receive
Attend community health events, healthcare association meetings, and networking functions
Stay current on Medicare home health eligibility, state regulations, and competitive dynamics in the Maine home health market

Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of proven B2B sales experience in home health, hospice, medical, or healthcare services
Demonstrated ability to build referral relationships with physicians, discharge planners, SNF and ALF staff, case managers, and social workers
Knowledge of Medicare-certified home health services, eligibility criteria, and referral processes
Understanding of Maine and federal home health standards and regulations
Goal-driven communicator who thrives working independently in a field-based, territory role
CRM proficiency (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) for pipeline tracking and reporting
Valid Maine driver's license and reliable transportation for daily territory travel
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Healthcare Administration preferred
Equivalent combination of education and hands‑on healthcare sales experience warmly considered
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
Existing referral relationships in Androscoggin, Oxford, or surrounding Maine counties
Experience selling to hospital systems, SNFs, or ALFs in Maine
Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid home health reimbursement or managed care environments
