Director, Supply Chain Operations

Unreal Snacks, Boston, MA, United States

We're on a mission to unjunk the world, starting with our favorite food group: CHOCOLATE.

Job Summary We are seeking a strategic and execution‑minded Director of Supply Chain Operations to join our team. This leader will play a pivotal role in managing Unreal's end‑to‑end demand‑to‑delivery network, bridging the gap between high‑level strategy and day‑to‑day execution. Owning both strategy and execution—from network design to daily performance—you will drive operational excellence across key service, cost, and inventory KPIs. Over the next 12–18 months, success in this role means driving network strategy, evaluating capacity improvements, identifying and mitigating bottlenecks, optimizing packing processes, and improving supply chain resilience and speed. As a strategic partner to the VP of Supply Chain, the Director will evolve the S&OP process to reflect Unreal's growth, ensuring inventory is optimally positioned to balance customer service levels with working capital efficiency. In this role, you will foster a high‑performing environment grounded in accountability and continuous improvement while managing and coaching a team of six, including two direct reports: the Senior Manager of S&OP and the Senior Manager of Fulfillment and Logistics. The Director reports directly to the VP of Supply Chain and will work remotely with approximately 15% travel for partner visits, QBRs, and company offsites.

What You’ll Do

Lead the evolution of the S&OP process from a demand‑focused review to a fully integrated forum inclusive of Supply Review and Executive Consensus, ensuring cross‑functional alignment on risks, trade‑offs, and business priorities.

Evolve the fulfillment and logistics network to support the company’s growth, identifying and executing opportunities for optimization, scalability, and improved service and cost performance.

Own relationships with co‑manufacturers, ensuring alignment with forecasts and service expectations, and proactively identifying and mitigating capacity or supply constraints.

Partner cross‑functionally across Operations, Commercial, and Finance to support innovation planning and commercialization, from co‑manufacturer identification and onboarding through steady‑state production.

Drive day‑to‑day operational performance against key KPIs, including fulfillment accuracy, inventory health, inventory levels, and OTIF across both co‑manufacturers and customers.

Identify, implement, and scale technology and systems to improve forecast accuracy, planning effectiveness, and overall supply‑chain visibility.

Leverage data and analytics to generate actionable insights and recommendations that reduce complexity and improve network efficiency, including packout optimization and network design.

Build, coach, and develop a high‑performing team, strengthening capabilities in partner management, operational execution, and accountability.

Who You Are

10+ years of experience in CPG supply chain planning and operations, including demand planning, capacity planning, inventory management, and fulfillment; experience with perishable products strongly preferred.

Proven experience managing external partners, including co‑manufacturers, co‑packers, and third‑party logistics providers, while building collaborative partnerships and driving accountability.

Deep experience leading S&OP processes, including demand review, supply review, and executive consensus, with a track record of driving cross‑functional alignment and decision‑making.

Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing and developing high‑performing teams, is required.

A high‑EQ people leader grounded in a coaching mindset who knows when to step in to lead and when to empower others.

A strategic thinker who uses data to inform long‑term strategy while remaining comfortable diving into tactical, “in‑the‑weeds” challenges.

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is a plus.
