AVP, Territory Leader (Midwest)

Overview Zurich Insurance is currently hiring an AVP, Territory Leader to work in our Midwest Region with a focus on the Great Lakes territory. In this business-critical position, the AVP, Territory Leader will manage the relationships with our Global, National, and Regional Insurance Brokers and Agents to deliver profitable growth by selling a broad and differentiated suite of commercial insurance solutions. The AVP, Territory Leader will acquire detailed knowledge of Zurich’s top trading partners including the brokers’ business models and propositions and create business plans that optimize identified opportunities aligned with organizational market basket strategies. The role will drive the underwriting team towards reaching the area’s financial growth targets and will support the broker community with long-term development of new revenue-producing programs, field personnel, and operational development through performance, financial, and operations management and special projects.

Responsibilities

Influence and lead by driving the underwriting team toward the area’s financial growth targets and maintaining Zurich’s prominence with the broker community.

Market and communicate the long-term development of new revenue-producing programs, field personnel, and operational development through performance, financial, and operations management and special projects.

Implement high-efficiency solution-selling in support of business and field development.

Coach and mentor underwriting teams and contribute as part of Zurich’s regional leadership team.

Acquire detailed knowledge of top trading partners, including brokers’ business models and propositions, and create business plans that optimize identified opportunities in alignment with market strategies.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Sales area OR

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Sales area OR

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Sales area AND

Leadership experience of multidisciplinary teams internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of the commercial insurance industry from a market and underwriting perspective

Strong broker network in the Great Lakes Region including Michigan and Indiana

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Experience creating long term revenue producing sales programs

Ability to execute effective sales strategies

Ability to identify business trends, changes in market conditions, and competitor activity

Experience in account underwriting and agent/broker negotiations

Compensation and Benefits Pay is based on role, location, skills, and experience. The pay range for this position is $115,200.00 – $188,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility of 20%. Bonuses and merit increases may apply as part of total compensation. The information reflects a national average and may vary by location.
