
Communications and Marketing Intern

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Communications and Marketing Intern will be responsible for supporting the marketing and communications team with daily projects and tasks. This role will require a combination of creative thinking, planning, research, writing, content creation, monitoring, coordination, and collaboration among team members and company departments. The Communications and Marketing Intern will support internal and external communication efforts, along with marketing initiatives and social media. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Support company social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others as needed), including content creation, content calendar development, posting, and community management through engagement with online audiences, live events, and more. Assist with planning, creating, and sending marketing emails through mass email platforms. Create content for various marketing channels, including website, social media, email, and digital or print materials. Support marketing initiatives, including flyer creation, content writing, drafting materials, managing material orders and printing, supporting organic and paid social media, and coordinating across departments. Assist with managing and updating content on the CareerSource Central Florida website. Support media and marketing reporting and monitoring. Assist the Sr. Manager of Communications and Communications Manager with drafting materials such as press releases, media alerts, internal communications, letters of support, staff emails, and newsletters. Provide onsite support and assist with planning at events (social media, marketing initiatives, video/photo shoots, traditional media, etc.). Support administrative needs, including invoices, order forms, file management, reporting, and inventory management of branded materials. Stay up to date with industry trends to identify new opportunities for marketing and communication initiatives. Collaborate with teams and departments to ensure consistent messaging across all internal and external channels. SUPERVISION

– Work is performed under general direction with limited latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Supervision Performed
– No direct reports. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current enrollment in an accredited institution pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related field; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in communications, marketing, business, or a related field. Must be able to provide verification of the legal right to operate a vehicle in the State of Florida (driver’s license, proof of personal auto insurance, etc.). Must fulfill all requirements of the CareerSource Central Florida Vehicle Safety Program and have reliable transportation. Accreditation confirmed by the USDOE Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs. COMPETENCIES

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling copy and articulate ideas Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects Experience with social media platforms and marketing tools Knowledge of SEO/SEM principles and analytics tools such as Google Analytics Familiarity with Muck Rack, TVEyes, Sprout Social, and other monitoring/reporting tools Understanding of marketing, advertising, web, and social media best practices Basic design skills (e.g., Canva) Proficiency in standard English grammar and usage Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines Strong research skills and familiarity with major media outlets Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Canva and basic HTML skills preferred Ability to understand complex policies and issues Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English Ability to travel to CareerSource Central Florida and partner locations (Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Sumter counties) as needed Professional appearance and attitude aligned with CSCF policies Demonstrates CSCF core values and maintains workplace culture aligned with the Trust Creed PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Tasks involve light physical effort (e.g., standing, walking, occasional lifting under 10 pounds) and routine use of office equipment. May include extended periods of sitting and working at a computer. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position follows a hybrid schedule, combining remote and in-office work based on business needs. Work is primarily performed indoors without exposure to adverse environmental conditions. SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Tasks may require manual dexterity, visual and hearing acuity, color distinction, and effective verbal communication.
