Value-Based Care Principal Director

Role Summary Advise clients on value-based care strategy, transformation, and execution across public sector health, provider, and payer‑provider environments. The successful candidate will combine deep domain expertise with strong consulting judgment, manage teams, advise senior clients, and deliver complex engagements in value‑based care and healthcare transformation. This individual will build trusted client relationships and help clients turn value‑based care strategy into operating models, implementation plans, and measurable results.

Responsibilities

Advise clients on value‑based care strategy, including incentives, attribution, performance measurement, network strategy, and care model change.

Guide clients through key decisions needed to move from VBC strategy to execution, including governance, operating model design, implementation planning, and performance management.

Develop transformation roadmaps, implementation plans, and executive recommendations to support VBC adoption and scale.

Advise state agencies, providers, and health plans on Medicaid‑focused and state‑specific value‑based models, including AHEAD‑aligned approaches.

Manage complex engagements from planning through delivery, including team leadership, quality management, stakeholder alignment, and issue resolution.

Work across policy, care management, claims, interoperability, digital, analytics, and provider operations teams to support integrated solutions.

Build trusted client relationships, coach junior team members, and contribute to account growth and repeatable VBC methods.

Travel: As required, up to 80%.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of healthcare consulting or industry experience with deep expertise in U.S. payer and/or provider environments, including value‑based care model design, implementation, performance management, population health, and risk‑based reimbursement.

Bachelor's degree.

Proven leadership in value‑based care transformation, including design and execution of payment models, care management, provider performance enablement, quality (e.g., STARs/HEDIS), and total cost of care initiatives.

Deep familiarity with Medicaid‑driven VBC models, provider incentives, attribution, network strategy, and quality or cost performance frameworks.

Ability to translate VBC strategy into practical operating models, governance structures, and execution plans.

Strong understanding of AHEAD readiness or similar state‑led value‑based initiatives.

Trusted executive advisor with strong presence and experience engaging C‑suite and senior clinical/operational leaders; able to translate complex clinical, financial, and data topics into actionable business outcomes.

Demonstrated consulting delivery and commercial acumen, including experience leading large, multi‑stakeholder healthcare transformation programs involving providers, health plans, state agencies, or public sector health clients with contribution to sales, origination, and account growth.

Strong analytical and technology fluency, with experience leveraging data, analytics, and digital platforms (e.g., care management, population health, AI‑enabled tools) to drive measurable outcomes under value‑based arrangements.
