Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, the Director of Financial Reporting will lead the full financial reporting function — from regulatory filings to executive-level materials — and serve as the internal authority on technical accounting matters. Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and equity statements
Prepare and file SEC reports including Form 10-Q, 10-K, and Form 8-K
Prepare financial statements and pro formas for material acquisitions per SEC requirements
Prepare Audit Committee and Board materials
Prepare and analyze internal monthly and quarterly management reports
Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations across debt and interest, equity instruments, stock-based compensation, and multi-entity consolidations
Monitor and implement new accounting standards including peer review analysis
Research and provide guidance on technical accounting matters
Manage and implement accounting policies
Oversee the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors
Support special projects and ad hoc requests as directed
Must-Have Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an active CPA license required
10+ years of progressive accounting experience including a minimum of 5 years in a financial reporting role at a publicly traded company
Hands-on experience preparing and filing SEC reports
Working knowledge of FASB and SEC regulations with the ability to research and apply technical guidance independently
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working across financial systems
Clear and confident communicator — both written and verbal
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience working in or with companies in the energy or natural resources space
Experience with financial reporting tools used in a high-volume close environment
Prior experience presenting to or preparing materials for executive leadership or a Board of Directors
