Position Summary
The Communications Specialist supports the Medicare Broker Marketing and Communications teams with both operational and generalist responsibilities across Marketing and Communications workstreams. This person plays a key part in the setup, execution, and delivery of broker‑facing communications and related processes, with a focus on Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and ancillary products.
The early‑career role is an excellent opportunity for a talented, motivated communicator to learn the Medicare business, gain exposure to multiple internal teams, and work on a wide range of communication and marketing activities.
The Communications Specialist will execute templated broker email communications, support development of flyers and presentations, support website content updates and uploads, contribute to reporting activities, and assist with communication tools and processes. Success in this role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, versatility, strong technical and organizational skills, and a growth mindset. The ideal candidate proactively looks for opportunities to develop new skills, build cross‑functional relationships, and deepen their understanding of the Medicare portfolio, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and ancillary products.
Required Qualifications
1‑3 years of hands‑on experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or digital content roles.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Excel.
Must reside in New York City, NY; Hartford, CT; or Wellesley, MA, and be willing to work a hybrid schedule in the local office.
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience creating or deploying templated communications through an email marketing platform (e.g., Acoustic, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Constant Contact).
Strong technical aptitude; comfortable learning new tools, platforms, and processes quickly.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks, requests, and deadlines while maintaining high quality.
High attention to detail, especially for proofreading, formatting, and quality control.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly.
A proactive, growth‑minded approach – someone who actively seeks opportunities to learn the business, build relationships, and take on new responsibilities.
Experience in healthcare, insurance, Medicare, or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and ancillary products.
Experience with reporting tools or dashboards (Tableau, advanced Excel functions).
Experience with Teams, SharePoint, or Miro for collaboration and workflow management.
Basic knowledge of HTML.
Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, support operational workflows, and manage multiple concurrent projects.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience (4+ years of experience + high school diploma or GED).

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $43,888.00 - $102,081.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
