The employee is responsible for administering the OEO and Continuity of Operations (COOP) programs for the Chief of Finance and Management who is the Social Security Administration (SSA) Continuity Coordinator.
Duties
Plans and implements a continuing and comprehensive evaluation of OEO and COOP structures, procedures, and activities which defines priorities and ensures the agency’s ability to respond to emergencies.
Performs duties as the agency Continuity Manager.
Supports and assists the agency Continuity Coordinator, a senior agency executive, in the planning and execution of the agency’s continuity of government program.
Provides expert technical advice and guidance on issues, concerns, and initiatives to SSA organizations and management.
Develops programs for providing necessary guidance as well as required training and exercises to agency personnel.
Plans and implements a continuing and comprehensive evaluation of emergency management and activities which defines priorities and ensures efficient and effective planning and operations.

To qualify for this GS‑14 Emergency Management Specialist position, you must have at least 52 weeks of Specialized Experience at (or equivalent to) GS‑13 or above. Specialized Experience is work that primarily consists of developing emergency management policies and risk assessments and implementing emergency management plans, practices and procedures to identify, minimize or eliminate hazards and threats. The specialized experience is required and must be explicitly documented/described in your resume, or you will be disqualified from further consideration. Your SSA‑45 (or resume) must describe duties you perform (not just knowledge, skills and abilities) as they relate to the specialized experience required for this position. Be clear, accurate and specific when describing your experience, e.g., list all positions separately, include full start and stop dates for each position, your organizational assignment and grade, and a comprehensive description of the relevant duties you performed in each position. Your resume or SSA‑45 must include your official duty station and your organization (i.e., SECURITY AND RESILIENCY) or you may be found ineligible.
