Credit Underwriter I - Real Estate Corporate Banking

The Real Estate Corporate Banking Credit Underwriter plays a key role in underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and performance reporting for loans and other credit risk exposure to large corporate real estate clients including public REITs, global real estate fund sponsors, and public homebuilders. The RECB Credit Underwriter works alongside Credit Officers and product partners from Corporate and Investment Banking, Loan Syndications, Risk, Treasury Management, Traded Products, Legal, and others with a focus on bilateral and syndicated unsecured REIT credit facilities, as well as subscription line financing for select institutional real estate asset managers. The Underwriter works closely with the Credit Officers to drive the underwriting and credit approval process for new originations and renewals of multiple product types (trading, loan, treasury), and bears increasing responsibility for the completion of portfolio monitoring routines. Active participation in transactions is expected with expanding understanding of deal structures and documentation issues. There will be opportunities to provide coaching and direction to new analysts and Underwriters may be assigned primary responsibility on a limited number of accounts with senior officer oversight. Responsibilities

Analyzing financial statements (primarily public company), capital structures, commercial real estate assets / portfolios and deal structures to produce documents in support of company specific and portfolio level decisions on a timely basis Proficient use of internal tools and systems in support of new deals, portfolio monitoring, performance reporting and data integrity requirements Solid understanding of capital and client profitability concepts, including modeling credit and relationship returns in support of risk / return considerations Comprehension of fundamental legal and underwriting concepts as they relate to deal structures Required Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience within a bank or financial institution, with hands‑on exposure to credit analysis, underwriting, loan structuring, or portfolio management supporting Commercial Real Estate or related lending products Familiarity with core banking products Solid experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and/or portfolio management Strong communication and analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring. Demonstrates commitment, personal responsibility, strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks at a time, teamwork, and a strong desire to grow and develop Desired Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, real estate or similar field. Knowledge of the other BofA products including Investment Banking, Interest Rate Hedging, and Treasury Management that have credit exposure Leverages product expertise to deliver the best possible and optimally integrated strategic solution for the client or prospect. Location: US - IL - Chicago - 110 N Wacker Dr - Bank Of America Tower Chicago (IL4110) Pay range: $91,200.00 - $140,200.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
