
Tax Manager – Real Estate

Role Overview:
The Tax Manager – Real Estate will play a key role within the firm's growing Tax practice, with a primary focus on
real estate-related tax compliance, planning, and consulting . This role is responsible for reviewing complex federal and state tax returns, managing client engagements, and leading and developing tax staff.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge in
partnership taxation and real estate transactions , strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to clients while collaborating closely with Partners and internal teams.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in
Accounting or a related field.
Active CPA, JD, or EA license required
8+ years of experience
reviewing complex tax returns.
Strong experience with
real estate and partnership taxation.
Experience mentoring and developing staff in a public accounting environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Review & Compliance Leadership:
Review partnership, S corporation, and high-net-worth individual tax returns, with a concentration on real estate entities. Lead federal and state compliance engagements from planning through delivery. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm quality standards.
Real Estate & Partnership Expertise:
Interpret partnership agreements and financial statements to ensure proper income, deduction, and allocation reporting. Apply partnership tax concepts including capital accounts, basis adjustments, Section 163(j), and allocation methodologies. Support tax structuring for acquisitions, dispositions, 1031 exchanges, and other real estate transactions.
Client Advisory & Relationship Management:
Serve as primary point of contact for clients, delivering proactive planning and strategic tax guidance. Partner with firm leadership to expand service offerings and strengthen client relationships. Stay current on tax law changes and industry trends impacting middle-market clients.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement:
Supervise, coach, and develop staff and seniors. Manage workflow, deadlines, and resource allocation across engagements. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
