Directing and developing a media department that’s capable of meeting our agency’s clients’ goals for growth.
Managing, developing, and building our team of in-house and contract-based media specialists.
Planning, creating, and executing effective media strategies that meet our clients’ needs.
Working closely with our client service, creative, strategy, and development teams to deliver effective campaigns.
Identifying and integrating advanced technologies and tools like AI throughout our media services in ways that drive efficiency and improve results.
Delivering and presenting compelling media reports to our clients that demonstrate the effectiveness of our work and directly support their core KPIs.
Key Qualifications
Experience in planning and executing successful media campaigns that encompass all of Echo-Factory’s core media services.
Strategic media planning expertise.
Experience with specialized B2B media targeting.
Demonstrated leadership, team management, and team building skills.
Demonstrated expertise in delivering results‑oriented media campaigns.
Experience developing and presenting effective media reports to clients.
A collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
Experience in a marketing or advertising agency setting.
A vision for growing our media department within the agency.
What’s Unique about This Position
Most of our agency’s clients operate in several niches, like Healthcare, Aerospace, and Industrial Manufacturing. Around 50% of our clients operate in B2B spaces. Which is all to say that you’re more likely to be developing media campaigns encouraging engineers to buy a specific piece of complex equipment than you are to be selling sneakers and soda to teenagers. (Nothing against sneakers, soda, or teenagers).
We’ve been offering media services for our entire 18-year history, but we’ve identified this as one of our key growth targets in 2026 and beyond. This hire is a key part of our investment in that growth.
All of our director-level positions are player/coach roles. You’ll be splitting your time between building, leading, and developing a capable team, and working hands‑on to develop and execute effective media campaigns.
What It’s Like to Work Here
We’re a smallish (10-person) ad agency headquartered in Old Town Pasadena, but remote-first. Our CEO starts every internal meeting by saying, “I’ve built this agency into my dream job, and I want to allow all of you to have your dream job here too.” He means it.
We get along. We help each other. We try to keep a manageable workload, and working evenings or weekends is extraordinarily rare, but when things go crazy, we band together to get it all done.
We’ve won a few creative awards, but are more focused on our client’s success than adding to our trophy shelf.
We’ve got a culture that’s focused more on the results you deliver than on how many boxes you can tick.
The pandemic taught us that we can collaborate well digitally, so while it’s important that you can come into our Pasadena offices if needed, we’re a primarily remote workforce.
Salary Expectations
As a small agency in Pasadena, we cannot compete dollar-for-dollar with some network agencies or client-side marketing teams. On the other hand, we can offer growth, culture, and a work/life balance that most of those organizations cannot. As Echo-Factory has continued to grow, we’ve attracted leaders from network agencies and successful marketing teams. Here, we focus on culture, teamwork, and creative solutions to our clients’ business problems as opposed to long hours and agency politics. If your priorities align with ours, we would love to hear from you.
Commitment to Diversity
Our clients and business partners come from all walks of life and so do we. We aim to hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s how we improve and deliver better work for our clients. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for making powerful, meaningful work and growing our clients’ businesses, you will find a home at Echo-Factory!
