Position Summary
Staff Data Engineer within the Sales and Marketing domain as part of the Data and Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to help modernize and scale enterprise analytics while working with a collaborative, business-focused organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives that require creative problem-solving. You will work closely with Sales and Marketing partners, data scientists, and analytics teams to design and engineer data pipelines, data models, dashboards, and analytics solutions that enable business insight and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing stakeholders, data scientists, BI analysts, and technical teams to understand data needs and deliver scalable analytics solutions
Develop overall database and data warehouse structures based on functional and technical requirements
Engineer physical and logical data models for dimensions and facts across staging, warehouse, and semantic layers
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using SQL, Python, Google Cloud Platform, Incorta, and Informatica ETL
Performance tune SQL, Python, Incorta, Informatica ETL pipelines, and Google BigQuery Dataprocs for medium to large data sets
Engineer scheduling and orchestration for batch and mini-batch data loads into enterprise data platforms
Utilize SQL within Google BigQuery, Informatica ETLs, Incorta pipelines, and Oracle SQL views to calculate metrics and derive dimensions
Provide issue resolution, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance for enterprise data warehouse and analytics solutions
Engineer dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Oracle Business Intelligence, Power BI, and Tableau with strong user experience and performance
Ensure data accuracy, performance, and scalability across reporting and analytics solutions
Core Competencies
Data Structures and Models Design and develop database and data warehouse structures to support analytics
Build data collection frameworks for structured and some unstructured data
Data Pipelines and ELT Extract, load, and transform data from multiple sources into dimensional models
Data Performance Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to querying and data integration
Proactively test performance scenarios during development
Visualizations and Dashboards Design reports and dashboards aligned to business needs
Use visualization best practices to accelerate insight discovery
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
4+ years of experience reading and writing SQL
3+ years of experience engineering within a data warehouse or related dimensional modeling environment
3+ years of experience designing and developing ETLs or pipelines using Python, Google BigQuery Dataprocs, and/or Informatica ETL
3+ years of experience enabling data for Point of Sale or syndicated consumption platforms (Circana preferred)
Proven ability to gather detailed technical requirements and deliver end-to-end data and analytics solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated initiative and strong interpersonal skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and analytical functions
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery, Dataflow, Datafusion, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage
Experience with Oracle databases and Oracle SQL performance tuning
Experience tuning complex SQL and ETL processes
Experience working with Sales, Marketing, and Consumption data
Experience with syndicated consumption providers or retailer-focused POS platforms
Experience working within OBIEE metadata models, including physical, logical, and presentation layers
