Director of Landscape Architect and Planning
International Erosion Control Association, Raleigh, NC, United States
Overview
This is a great opportunity to join a well-established engineering and design consultancy working across a wide mix of public and private sector projects. They offer strong long-term career prospects, a supportive environment, and a genuine focus on work-life balance.
You’d be stepping into a senior-level role with plenty of autonomy, while still having access to leadership, mentorship, and clear progression pathways. The culture is collaborative, and they place real value on developing their people over the long term.
The role You’ll be working closely with senior leaders and project teams to deliver thoughtful planning and design solutions across a variety of projects - ranging in both scale and complexity.
Day-to-day, that might include:
Leading and contributing to planning and design work from early concepts through to delivery
Reviewing and coordinating submissions such as rezoning, site plans, and broader planning applications
Carrying out research and analysis to inform design and planning strategies
Producing plans, graphics, and presentation materials (both hand-drawn and digital)
Preparing reports and presenting findings to internal teams, stakeholders, and external boards
Supporting the delivery of detailed construction documentation for development projects
Coordinating with wider teams, consultants, and stakeholders to keep projects moving forward
What they’re looking for
Around 15+ years’ experience in planning, urban design, landscape architecture, or a related field
A relevant degree (architecture, landscape, planning, etc.)
Someone confident leading projects and working closely with clients and internal teams
Strong technical skills across design and documentation software
Experience managing teams, deadlines, budgets, and external consultants
A collaborative mindset and someone who enjoys contributing ideas and solving complex challenges
Comfortable taking projects from early concept stages through to delivery
