Social Media Intern
We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to support our brand presence across key platforms, engage with our community, and help bring impactful stories to life. This role is perfect for someone eager to grow in social media, content creation, and digital marketing while contributing to work that truly makes a difference.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing, scheduling, and publishing social media content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X.
Support day-to-day community management by monitoring comments, messages, and engagement.
Collaborate with the Social Media Strategist and Creative Team to brainstorm and produce compelling visual and written content.
Track and analyze key social media metrics to measure performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Conduct research on industry trends, patient stories, diabetes advocacy moments, and competitive activity.
Participate in cross-team projects supporting product launches, campaigns, and educational initiatives.
Maintain brand voice, accuracy, and compliance with healthcare and regulatory guidelines.
Assist in managing content calendars and ensuring timely delivery of assets.
Support influencer and ambassador program logistics, including outreach and coordination.
What You’ll Need
Strong passion for social media, digital culture, and content creation.
Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail and brand tone.
Ability to think creatively and contribute fresh ideas for content formats and storytelling.
Basic experience with content tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar (a plus).
Familiarity with social monitoring platforms such as Sprout for social media analytics and reporting is helpful but not required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Enthusiastic, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Some experience managing social media accounts — professional, personal, or student‑led — is preferred but not required.
Interest in healthcare, medical devices, or patient communities is a plus.
Minimum Certifications/educational Level
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field.
Work Location & Schedule
Hybrid: This position is hybrid and open to candidates located in San Diego, California. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur onsite and remotely.
Schedule: Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST.
Compensation
The starting base pay range for this position is $23.00 - $31.00 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market.
This is a temporary position. As a temporary employee you will be employed through a staff agency partner. Benefits during your temporary assignment may be provided by the staffing agency. Access to Tandem sponsored benefits is contingent upon conversion from temporary to regular full‑time status. Conversion is determined based upon business need and job performance.
