What you will be doing
- Working alongside Marketing to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive local, national, and international PR & communications strategy for the Village; providing strategic direction and overseeing execution, with the support of the PR Manager and PR agency.
- Setting strategic goals, as well as qualitative and quantitative objectives, that are aligned with business objectives to enhance brand awareness and drive footfall and sales.
- Acting as the strategic lead in monitoring local market trends and the NYC cultural landscape; guiding the PR Manager in gathering, analyzing, and presenting market insights, identifying consumer behavior patterns and opportunities for partnerships.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to shape the Village's positioning across advertising, editorial content, and partnerships.
- Owning the PR budget; guiding the PR Manager in managing budget reports, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost‑effective opportunities.
- Working alongside Marketing to provide strategic oversight and leadership to external PR agencies and consultants, while mentoring the PR Manager on day‑to‑day tasks, such as media entertaining and coordinating with agencies.
- Serving as primary contact for press, and building relationships and managing interview requests on behalf of the Village; leading the introduction and delivery of the concept and the image of the Village to press and media, in partnership with agencies of record.
- Providing oversight in the creation and promotion of all press tools and materials by the PR Manager, as well as management of the internal media databases and day‑to‑day media requirements.
- Positioning key executives as thought leaders and brand ambassadors for the Village, crafting executive messaging and briefing materials for media interviews, speaking engagements, and public appearances.
- Leading the development and execution of the Village’s influencer strategy in alignment with the Marketing team, ensuring the selection of influencers supports the larger earned media storytelling goals; working with the PR Manager to identify key influencers, negotiate partnerships, and manage day‑to‑day influencer interactions and content creation.
- Working in partnership with Marketing to ideate, concept, and execute unique press and marketing campaigns, activations, events, and partnerships that introduce, promote and create brand equity and cultural relevance for the Village and the Belmont Park campus as a whole.
- Developing relationships with key media influencers and industry leaders to identify opportunities to drive the VIP outreach program and relationships with Belmont Park campus brand ambassadors.
- Mentoring the PR Manager on working with brands and pop‑up brands within the Village to maximize PR opportunities.
- Overseeing the development of press events by the PR Manager to promote the Village and providing guidance on the production & promotion of these events.
- Working alongside Marketing to establish and maintain the overarching brand positioning for the Village.
- Defining and evolving the Village’s tone of voice, ensuring it is consistently applied across all communication channels and materials; leading cross‑functional teams in implementing the brand voice, ensuring alignment with marketing, PR, and guest experience initiatives.
- Developing a comprehensive communications plan, including messaging frameworks, content themes, and key communication milestones.
- Leading the development and approval of all communications materials, ensuring they are consistent with the Village’s brand voice and positioning.
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure that messaging across the Village’s website, social media, and other guest touchpoints is aligned with the broader communications strategy and brand guidelines.
- Liaising with The Bicester Collection’s Central team, ensuring regular updates and that all PR and communications strategies are aligned globally and regularly reported to global leadership.
- Working with the Central PR team and their U.S. agency to support the positioning of Belmont Park Village – hosting U.S. press and influencers in sister Villages with the joint objective of educating press on the benchmark for what Belmont Park Village will become, and raising awareness for The Bicester Collection with U.S. press.
What makes you special
- A minimum of 8 years of public relations and brand communications experience, ideally with a luxury brand or retailer; a minimum of one year at the Director level is required.
- In‑depth knowledge of the NYC fashion and media landscape.
- A desire to be a part of a team on the ground, establishing Belmont Park as an Iconic Destination in New York.
- Exceptional relationship building skills, and demonstrated contacts with key media partners.
- A willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Fluency in English; any other language would be beneficial.
- Demonstrated computer literacy, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work well with others across all levels of the business.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
