About the Role: The Estimator/Sales professional plays a critical role in bridging the gap between project conception and successful contract acquisition within the construction industry. This position is responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and presenting competitive bids that align with client requirements and company profitability goals. The role demands a strategic approach to sales, involving client engagement, relationship building, and negotiation to secure new business opportunities. The Estimator/Sales individual collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure estimates are comprehensive and reflect current market conditions. Ultimately, this role drives revenue growth by delivering precise cost analyses and fostering strong client partnerships that support long-term business success. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating and sales. Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CRM software and project management tools. Knowledge of local and federal construction regulations and compliance requirements. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent. Demonstrated success in sales within the construction industry. Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications. Responsibilities: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation. Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements. Develop and present competitive bids and proposals that meet client needs while ensuring company profitability. Maintain and build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to generate new sales opportunities. Monitor market trends, material costs, and labor rates to update estimates and adjust pricing strategies accordingly. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless transition from estimation to project execution. Track and report on sales activities, bid status, and project outcomes to management. Skills: The Estimator/Sales professional utilizes analytical skills daily to interpret project documents and develop precise cost estimates that inform competitive bids. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging clients, understanding their needs, and negotiating contracts effectively. Proficiency with estimating and CRM software enables efficient management of bid processes and client relationships. Attention to detail ensures accuracy in cost calculations and compliance with industry standards, reducing risk and enhancing profitability. Additionally, the ability to stay informed about market trends and material costs allows the professional to adjust strategies proactively, supporting successful project acquisition and execution.
