Senior FOIA Paralegal

Responsibilities
Conduct searches and analyze result sets to separate non-responsive documents from responsive documents
Screen responsive documents for privilege or FOIA exemptions
Redact and code responsive documents
Perform legal research
Draft legal documents
Process FOIA requests
Provide litigation support tasks
Utilize eDiscovery tools such as Nuix Investigate, Relativity, or similar
Qualifications
Paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study completed
At least one year of litigation paralegal experience (trial experience preferred)
Experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, and/or other eDiscovery document review tools
Experience processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations
Basic legal knowledge, including standard legal citation and use of LEXIS and Westlaw for research
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with computer applications (word processing, document review systems, spreadsheets, imaging, hardware)
Basic familiarity with electronic information and eDiscovery procedures and resources
Ability to consistently deliver high‑quality work under extreme pressure
Knowledge of ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures
Ability to work independently
English language proficiency (read, write, speak, understand)
Ability to obtain a government security clearance
Preferred: two years experience using Nuix Investigate for document review and tagging
Preferred: two years experience in processing FOIA requests for federal agencies
Preferred: fluency in statutory and regulatory guidelines for FOIA responses
