Junior Estimator
opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in preconstruction and estimating while working closely with experienced leadership on active projects from early planning through handoff to operations. The Junior Estimator serves as a key support partner to the preconstruction team and plays an important role in helping keep scopes, bids, documentation, schedules, and communication organized and moving forward. The right candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, comfortable working with subcontractors and internal teams, and ready to contribute in a fast-paced construction environment.
What You'll Be Doing You will support preconstruction activities across assigned projects from RFP through operational handoff. This includes helping manage subcontractor bid flow, maintaining project logs and documentation, assisting with scope and budget support, participating in job walks and meetings, and helping ensure project information is current and actionable.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting estimating and budget development alongside the preconstruction team
Assisting with job walks, scope reviews, owner calls, and project meetings
Taking detailed meeting notes and preparing clear meeting minutes
Coordinating meetings, invites, agendas, and site access details
Distributing bid packages and invitations to bid to subcontractors
Tracking bid activity, subcontractor questions, clarifications, and due dates
Helping identify scope gaps, overlaps, and inconsistencies in bids
Maintaining Smartsheet logs, RFI logs, assumptions and exclusions, and other preconstruction documentation
Organizing project folders, drawings, specifications, addenda, and correspondence
Supporting Bluebeam takeoffs, quantity checks, and scope validation
Assisting with early submittal planning and long lead item tracking
Communicating status updates, risks, and follow-up items to project leadership
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field, or equivalent construction or preconstruction experience
1 to 3 years of experience in estimating, bid coordination, construction administration, or preconstruction support
Working knowledge of construction scopes and subcontractor trades
Ability to read plans and specifications and assist with basic scope review
Experience with Smartsheet or similar tracking tools
Experience with Bluebeam Revu for takeoffs, markups, and document review
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability
Team-oriented approach and willingness to support others where needed
