
Digital Marketing Specialist

Position Summary
UNC‑Chapel Hill’s University Communications and Marketing department is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist. This seasoned communications professional will plan and implement digital marketing campaigns (in‑house and with vendor support) to promote the university’s impact. The role reports to the Director of Marketing Strategy.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement paid social media campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn, and X.
Coordinate paid media buys and track pacing and metrics across digital platforms.
Analyze campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Business Suite, X, and Instagram Analytics.
Provide strategic recommendations based on best practices and observed performance.
Measure the impact of communication efforts with the University’s target audiences.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to digital marketing or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Demonstrated experience developing and executing paid social media campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn, and X.
Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Business Suite, X, and Instagram Analytics for reporting digital and social media metrics.
Knowledge of SEO and AP Style.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Three years of relevant experience in digital marketing.
Ability to develop standard benchmarking and reporting systems.
