Loan Documentation Specialist

About the Role The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for generating loan documentation for all types of loans including, but not limited to, commercial, commercial real estate, agricultural, and SBA. This position promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.

Essential Duties

Reviews loan documentation request and loan approvals to ensure information is complete and accurate, loans were properly approved, terms and conditions are consistent with Bank policy, federal and state regulations, and any 3rd party agency.

Obtains missing data; notifies appropriate team members of any inaccuracies or inconsistencies between the documentation request, loan approvals, Bank policy or regulations, or 3rd party agencies.

Inputs data to generate loan documents using Laser Pro, Microsoft Word, Abrigo, other platforms, or coordinates with outside legal counsel.

Prepares loan documents for specialty lending programs such as the SBA, USDA, leasing, factoring, or similar programs.

Makes sure loan documents are prepared timely and accurately consistent with loan approval, documentation request, Bank policy, banking regulations, and 3rd party agency requirements. Meets established delivery timelines for loan documents.

Saves executed loan documents to borrower file.

Works with Escrow/Title companies for clearing of funding conditions prior to releasing loan funds.

Input funding wires for approval once all conditions are satisfied and funds are requested.

Communicates Laser Pro program change recommendations to aid in efficiency and ease of use.

Travels up to 10%, including but not limited to attending company meetings, training sessions, and corporate events, with travel typically being regional or local based on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years of related experience in preparing loan documentation using Laser Pro required.

Basic analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to work with and interpret data.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.

Intermediate understanding of loan structure and loan documentation.

Intermediate understanding of state and federal banking regulations and banking credit policies.

Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers, vendors and employees.

Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
