Blue Hills Ski Area is Greater Boston’s hometown mountain — an accessible, family-friendly destination with a passionate local following. We offer alpine skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and a full lodge experience just minutes from the city. As we grow our group and corporate business, we’re looking for a driven sales professional to lead that effort.
POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of Sales & Business Development is responsible for building and expanding Blue Hills’ revenue from group outings, corporate events, sponsorships and team-building packages. This is a role requiring strong outbound prospecting, relationship management, and the ability to execute based on the client’s wishes. The ideal candidate understands the Boston market, thrives in a seasonal business environment, and is passionate about delivering memorable outdoor experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Sales & Business Development
Proactively prospect and develop new corporate and group accounts across the Greater Boston market, including rec programs, schools, financial services, tech, healthcare, and professional services sectors
Manage a full sales cycle from lead generation through contract execution and fulfillment
Build and maintain a pipeline of accounts using CRM tools; track activity, revenue, and forecasting
Develop tailored proposals and pricing for group ski days, holiday parties, team-building outings, and private events
Meet or exceed seasonal revenue targets for group and corporate bookings
Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate accounts and group organizers from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up
Cultivate long-term relationships to drive repeat business and referrals
Represent Blue Hills at local events, meetings, and trade shows
Partner with the marketing team to develop group-focused promotional materials, digital campaigns, and outreach strategies
Provide market feedback to inform package development, pricing, and seasonal programming
Coordinate closely with operations and guest services to ensure seamless execution of group events
QUALIFICATIONS
3–5 years of sales experience, preferably in hospitality, events, recreation, or entertainment
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Experience selling into the Boston corporate market strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenter
Proficiency with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
Self‑motivated with the ability to manage a high volume of outreach and follow‑up independently
Passion for skiing, outdoor recreation, or experiential hospitality is a plus
Availability to work select weekends and evenings during peak ski season (December–March)
