Groups Director

The Groups Director at the Romeo campus supports the mission of Woodside Bible Church by providing strategic and pastoral leadership to Groups and Adult Ministry. This role partners closely with the Executive Director and Central Groups Ministry leadership to cultivate biblical community, develop volunteer leaders, and engage adults in meaningful discipleship. Through coaching, shepherding, assimilation, and collaborative planning, the Groups Director equips leaders to multiply disciples and fosters a culture of spiritual transformation. As a Groups Hub Leader, this individual also collaborates with Central Ministry leadership to align local campus efforts with the overall direction of Woodside’s Groups Ministry.

Experience Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of ministry or leadership experience, particularly in Adult Discipleship, Groups, or church ministry.

Knowledge of group leadership, volunteer training, and adult discipleship models.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage systems, and develop volunteer pipelines.

Duties and Responsibilities Leadership Development & Resourcing

Recruits, trains, and multiplies group leaders; implement ongoing training based on Groups Ministry DNA rhythms.

Provides encouragement, appreciation, and resources to leaders.

Contributes to the Groups Collaboration Team to support broader church movement and development.

Coaching & Shepherding

Administers group health assessments; maintains regular relational contact with leaders.

Develops and equips group coaches and community leaders based on campus needs.

Establishes systems for care, accountability, and storytelling within the group ministry.

Strategic Planning & Assimilation

Collaborates with other campus ministries (Kids, Students, Adults Ministry, Next Steps) to support whole-family discipleship.

Uses Ministry Platform and Group Finder to manage assimilation and data.

Maintains group metrics and calendars for launches, training, and leader equipping.

Facilitates the new believer discipleship process, in partnership with the Assimilation Director.

Hub Leader Responsibilities

Reports to the Executive Director and partners with the Central Ministry Director.

Supports and aligns local Groups Ministry Directors within the Romeo Hub to Group Ministry DNA and strategic goals.

Collaborates with the Groups Ministry Hub Team to set annual goals, update ministry practices, and facilitate monthly Group Directors meetings.

Fulfills Hub Leader rhythms: Monthly check-ins with Romeo Hub Groups Directors, Monthly participation in Group Hub Team meetings.
