As part of this evolution, we’re seeking a dynamic Graphic Designer- Visual Brand Designer to join our Marketing Team and strengthen Custer’s competitive edge in the market.
Opportunity at a Glance
The Visual Brand Designer supports the execution of Custer’s visual brand across a range of internal and external applications. This role is responsible for producing high-quality, on-brand design assets that support sales efforts, marketing initiatives, and internal communications.
This is an execution-focused role for a designer who thrives working within established brand guidelines, while bringing creativity and thoughtful visual problem-solving to their work. The ideal candidate is process-oriented, detail-driven, and able to move quickly, iterate, and respond to evolving project needs.
Job Responsibilities
Design Execution & Asset Development
Design and produce a variety of visual assets including sales proposals, RFP responses, presentations, marketing collateral, and internal materials.
Translate provided content and direction into clear, visually compelling layouts that enhance understanding and engagement.
Support the sales team by developing polished, on-brand proposal materials that effectively communicate Custer’s value.
In select cases, interpret blocks of content and recommend visual approaches (e.g., diagrams, layouts, hierarchy) to improve clarity and storytelling.
Prepare files for print and digital use, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Review and proof materials for visual consistency, readability, and alignment with brand standards.
Apply established brand guidelines consistently across all deliverables.
Maintain and utilize templates, ensuring efficient and cohesive output across projects.
Support the organization and upkeep of brand assets and shared design resources.
Work closely with the Marketing Manager to receive directions, clarify scope, and prioritize work.
Partner with sales team members on proposals and RFP responses, helping translate requirements into strong visual deliverables.
Participate in project kick-off meetings and attend in-person sessions as needed to understand project goals and expectations.
Follow established workflows for project intake, revisions, and delivery.
Proactively communicate status, timelines, and any questions needed to move work forward efficiently.
Contribute to ongoing refinement of templates, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and consistency over time.
Identify opportunities to streamline design workflows while maintaining quality and brand integrity.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred.
3-5+ years of experience in graphic design or production-focused role.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Experience designing presentations (PowerPoint) and working within templates.
Strong understanding of layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently under deadlines.
Comfortable taking directions and working within established brand guidelines.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both marketing and sales teams.
Ability to move quickly, iterate, and balance speed with quality.
Part-time, hourly position (approximately 24 hrs. per week)
Flexible schedule based on project needs and deadlines.
In-office presence required for project kick-offs and as needed to support collaboration and alignment.
