The Marketing & Communications Manager at Association Matters, Inc., a full-service association management company serving trade, professional, and charitable nonprofit organizations nationwide, leads the development and execution of strategic marketing and communication initiatives for client associations. This role manages and maintains client websites, coordinates email broadcasts, publishes e-newsletters, and contributes to event materials, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across digital, print, and member communications. The ideal candidate is creative, can effectively communicate with all levels of an organization, prioritize multiple time-sensitive projects, and collaborate with a team to meet the needs of diverse clients while driving engagement and visibility. Duties and Responsibilities Website Management Update and refresh client websites with new content, including graphics, copy, and multimedia elements. Apply and monitor best practices in SEO, digital marketing, and website design to optimize site performance. Track, analyze, and report on website metrics to measure engagement and effectiveness. Publish and manage digital content, including blogs, page updates, and other web-based communications. Communications Management Develop, manage, and maintain distribution lists and communications, monitoring shared mailboxes and responding as appropriate. Write, proofread, and edit copy across marketing channels, ensuring consistent client voice and messaging. Plan, draft, and coordinate newsletters and other content, including generating story ideas and editing submissions. Oversee email lists and subscriber databases to ensure accuracy and effective outreach. Support content creation for webinars, conferences, and other client events. Client Management Develop, implement, and maintain strategic communications and content plans that align with client brand and messaging guidelines. Collaborate with clients to design, edit, and produce digital and new media content, including written copy, graphics, and other creative assets. Identify and leverage compelling storytelling opportunities to enhance client visibility, engagement, and brand recognition. Partner with the Director of Client Services to create and execute innovative marketing and promotional campaigns that support membership growth, revenue goals, and strategic objectives. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and internal teams, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving. Consistently demonstrate commitment to quality, customer support, and bringing enthusiasm to projects while seeking opportunities to strengthen working relationships and drive results. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field Strong writing, editing, and project management skills Experience with email platforms, CMS systems, analytics tools, and design tools Two [2] writing samples, along with resume submitted for application Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications Association or nonprofit communications experience Experience with graphic design Experience with social media Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., Wild Apricot, WIX), Canva, Google Analytics, and digital communication platforms including LinkedIn, MailChimp, and Instagram. Strong understanding of marketing channels and best practices across social, digital, and email campaigns. Skilled in researching content opportunities, staying current on industry trends, and leveraging tools for performance reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and exercising sound judgment. Adept at anticipating communication needs, identifying potential challenges, and synthesizing information effectively. Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong client relationships and meet diverse client needs. Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work independently or within a team, embrace change, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Work Schedule This full-time position requires a standard 40-hour work week, with a flexible schedule. Employees are provided the tools and support to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
