This role presents a rare opportunity to steer the next stage of Parrotdog’s growth and shape the future of one of New Zealand’s most recognisable beer brands. As Head of Marketing & Brand, you’ll take full ownership of Parrotdog’s market positioning, building on a foundation of quality, approachability and simplicity - principles that have guided Parrotdog since its inception. With a clear mandate to grow our audience and get more Parrotdog into more hands, you’ll play a critical role in driving the next phase of demand.
Role Purpose
Building on a 15 year legacy in New Zealand’s beer industry, this role blends strategic leadership, commercial acumen and creative execution, strengthening Parrotdog’s market presence and consumer connection. You will lead and develop the marketing team, delivering initiatives that support sustainable growth, and find new ways to connect with customers and expand our reach.
Responsibilities
Implementing and developing a marketing strategy to realise the company’s strategic objectives.
Driving innovation and NPD strategy based on brand positioning and consumer insights.
Championing our cultural tenets, ensuring Parrotdog’s purpose, vision and values are shared and embedded into the senior team, all staff, and customers at all levels.
Driving consumer demand through a strategic focus on key products, campaigns, and market opportunities.
Leading and analysing market research initiatives and consumer insights, making informed, data‑led decisions to steer brand direction and marketing investment.
Overseeing digital, social media and campaign strategy to drive engagement and reach.
Managing and developing the marketing team, while leading agency and partner relationships.
Key Requirements
Senior marketing leadership experience, ideally in FMCG or consumer brands.
Proven ability to build, scale and lead a quality, product focussed brand.
Strong commercial acumen connecting brand strategy to business outcomes.
Experience in commercial marketing gained through agency roles, ideally.
Management of digital marketing, brand strategy, and consumer insights.
Comfortable working with and reporting to board and executive‑level teams.
Ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
Experience in budget management, campaign planning, and performance tracking.
This role leads Parrotdog’s brand, marketing and consumer engagement strategy to accelerate growth, strengthen market leadership, and expand Parrotdog’s presence across the domestic market. This person will be leading our marketing team to bring Parrotdog’s vision and values to life.
