
Consumer Lending Underwriter

Description
Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about helping people achieve financial success? OUCU Financial is looking for a Consumer Lending Underwriter to evaluate consumer loan applications and documentation to make responsible lending decisions that support both our members and our mission.
Duties Include
Reviews consumer loan applications for accuracy and completeness. Prepares and forwards loan documents to the appropriate parties.
Documents and updates the loan processing systems with status changes, comments, and any other relevant details.
Communicates with members, dealers, or other third parties to ensure the collection of loan underwriting conditions.
Works closely with front office staff to gather the necessary documentation to meet underwriting criteria. Keeps the front office staff up to date regarding the loan status.
Works with dealers to obtain signed purchase orders and determine collateral value.
Answers incoming calls from dealerships regarding indirect loan applications. Completes quality control on indirect loan packages submitted for funding.
Performs closed loan maintenance such as closing credit lines, setting up payment methods or payroll deductions.
The pay for this position starts at $20.47 per hour, with relevant education and experience considered in determining the starting pay rate.

Requirements
Associate's degree in related field or equivalent education and experience.
Experience in lending in a financial institution or finance company. Knowledge of consumer lending rules and regulations and underwriting principles.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Professional demeanor with the ability to clearly communicate with employees, members, and other third parties.
