
Operations and Sales Floor Manager, Campus Retail Store

Job Summary
Ensures operational needs for the KSU Bookstore are met, manages assigned staff and/or student assistants, and functions as the primary point of contact for sales floor activity and customer‑heavy programs. Supervises sales floor coverage, facilitates unique customer programs, and maintains cash drawer integrity.
Responsibilities
Ensures general operational needs for all KSU Bookstore operations are met (store supplies, maintenance, repair of business equipment, facility condition, posting hours of operation, etc.).
Manages all assigned staff and/or student assistants including hiring, training, scheduling, time approval, daily supervision, and performance monitoring.
Ensures integrity of cash drawers and all other transactions conducted through the registers.
Serves as primary customer service point of contact, ensuring customer service is provided at the highest level through all channels by all employees.
Monitors the main bookstore email account and phone messages.
Supervises order fulfillment and inventory control processes and related operations (resolving customer issues, managing package pickup, managing parcel lockers, etc.).
Facilitates all aspects of specialty programs and related processes for unique groups such as Dual Enrollment and Scholarship Athletes.
In coordination with department leadership, ensures management level, cashier, and sales floor coverage for opening and closing periods is adequate.
Coordinates with the team to assure adequate, engaged staffing throughout the day.
Works closely with HR to hire student assistants and facilitates onboarding and off‑boarding processes.
Provides management and supervision to assigned locations, ensuring proper coverage and hours of operation.
Coordinates with other bookstore departmental teams to ensure relevant and required product is available.
Facilitates seasonal setup and breakdown of additional registers and infrastructure needed during peak season or special events.
Assists with general supervision, training, and support for all sales floor staff within the KSU Bookstore.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of relevant work experience including at least two (2) years supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a retail environment.
Customer service training and experience.
