Overview All tasks are performed as part of a learning process and will involve a high degree of supervision and direction. Incumbent is to focus on learning and becoming conversant with the various aspects of workers' compensation (how rates are set, classifications, experience mods, schedule rating, Zenith underwriting philosophy).
Responsibilities
Solicit, underwrite, and price business consistent with the Company’s Underwriting Philosophy.
Learn customer facing skills.
Expected to provide general guidance and direction to support personnel.
Participates in visits to agencies and/or clients.
Work requires independence within assigned, but restrictive, Letter of Authority; however it is expected that one will seek guidance on any unusual or complex exposures, problems or issues.
Applies principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
Respond positively to direction and feedback on performance.
Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Work with Internal Audit on risk assessments completed on user provisioning, and quality output.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Work Experience
Combined experience investigating Workers compensation Insurance claims.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Strong math and reading skills required.
Computer literacy required.
Previous workers’ compensation experience helpful.
Valid Driver License in good standing.
Overnight Travel Required.
Pay, Benefits, and Other Information The expected salary range for this position is $53,236 - $66,544. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
