
Summer Timberlake Assistant Program Director - $475/week

POSITION TITLE: Summer Timberlake Assistant Program Director
DEPARTMENT: Camp Arnold
STATUS: Temporary/Seasonal, Exempt
PAY: $475/week – Room and Board (lodging and food) included
General Duties
Be responsible for the spiritual welfare of Timberlake staff and campers.
Attend and participate in all camp programs and spiritual activities.
Maintain standards of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
Assist with the clean‑up of the camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
Complete and submit an "End of Summer Brief" to the Timberlake Program Director with recommendations for the future.
Assist with other duties as needed.
Specific Duties: Safety and Supervision
Assume responsibility for the supervision and direction of Timberlake staff.
Enforce camp policies and procedures.
Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.
Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct.
Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.
Weekly Responsibilities
Encourage and support the Timberlake staff through prayer and one‑on‑one meetings.
Assume indirect responsibility of all Timberlake counseling staff.
Provide counselors with resources, strategies, and intervention when needed to resolve camper management issues.
Collaborate with the Timberlake Program Director to plan specific weekly duties and schedule.
Collaborate with the Timberlake Program Director to plan elective classes schedule.
Collaborate with the Timberlake Program Director to plan free‑time options and staff assignments.
Collaborate with the Timberlake Program Director and Recreation Director to plan the cabin activity schedule.
Assist with the coordination of all other program components relative to the daily schedule.
Work with the Timberlake Program Director to ensure recreation staff have specific Timberlake assignments well in advance.
Assist in coordination of night‑watch duties as they relate to the Timberlake Program.
Collaborate with Timberlake Program Director and Timberlake unit leaders in assignment of camper groups.
Provide logistic support for unit games and pool parties for unit leaders and waterfront director.
Lead table grace and give announcements in the dining hall when necessary.
Plan all Timberlake campfire programs, including preparation or delegation of preparation of campfire devotionals, pre‑screening of skits and songs, inventory and maintenance of props, and securing needed supplies.
Plan and implement the weekly camp‑wide games, its set‑up, cleanup, and supplies.
Coordinate staff banquet theme, menu, venue, and committee selection.
Laundry schedule: develop and post.
Maintain American Camping Association standards for the camp site and program.
Assist with checkout of staff at the end of each camp session.
Prepare the Assistant Timberlake Program Brief at the end of the summer.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.
Ability to operate telephone and a desktop or laptop computer.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
Ability to understand written information.
