Essential Duties Customer Satisfaction
Greet customers and thank them as they leave.
Provide assistance, offers suggestions and recommendations.
Ring up all sales on the cash register accurately, handling money, checks and other payments.
Operate fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions and other equipment.
Report to work on time and adhere to the dress and appearance code.
Facility Condition
Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain store cleanliness inside and out.
Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness and proper working order.
Notify Store Manager of equipment failures or maintenance/supply needs.
Merchandising
Complete build‑to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise and verify vendor deliveries.
Maintain adequate stock and rotate product properly.
Place advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility, including marquees, ceilings, walls and windows.
Sales Controls
Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and conduct shift audits.
Financial Controls
Track accurate cash, sales and inventory records and account for variances.
Notify Store Manager of any sales, cash or inventory discrepancies.
Follow Company and/or brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
Security Controls
Report all incidents—including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage or improper sanitation or waste disposal—to the Store Manager.
Report any situation that is or might be unsafe, unlawful or unethical.
Administrative
Keep accurate records of all shift and timekeeping paperwork.
Take inventory of supplies and equipment as needed.
Attend job‑related meetings and provide regular on‑site attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in retail sales preferred.
Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment, including cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers and other tools.
Ability to work as scheduled and arrive to work on time.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
Ability to perform the essential duties and physical functions described below.
Ability to work in the conditions described below.
Physical Requirements
Expose to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in walk‑in coolers, freezers, and outdoors.
Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for the entire shift.
Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
Reach overhead for objects.
Bend and twist at the waist.
Communicate orally.
Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push and pull as needed.
Work alone.
Be exposed to occasional noise.
Stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
May require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or remove signs.
Work Environment
Approximately 95% of work is performed indoors; occasional tasks include cleaning parking lots, gas pumps and taking out garbage.
Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while performing occasional walk‑in cooler or freezer work.
Exposure to occasional noise.
Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
Hiring Range $13.50 to $14.00
